Shizuoka Prefecture

What is Shizuoka Prefecture

The highest mountain in Japan, Mount Fuji, is located in Shizuoka. Straddling the prefectures of Shizuoka and Yamanashi, Mount Fuji was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site in June 2013. Tea cultivation thrives in the prefecture, and plantations can even be seen from the windows of passing Shinkansen trains. On the Pacific coast, the installation of a transportation network has led to industrial development.
